The trip start in the charming fish village of Paternoster, 2 nights. Of to the gastronomic capital town, Franschhoek and the traditional wine district around Stellenbosch for 3 nights. Then onwards to the scenic coastal town of Hermanus for 3 nights and end the trip in one of the world’s most beautiful cities, Cape Town for 4 nights.

Dates: The trip can be booked on any preferred day of the week, and the duration of the stay can be adjusted according to your wishes.

Length of trip: 11 nights / 12 days in Western Cape Province + 2 travel days (flight).

Preliminary itinerary

 
DAY BY DAY – READ MORE

Day 1-2. Paternoster.
After arriving at Cape Town’s airport, pick up your rental car and drive to the charming village of Paternoster, along the west coast about 2 hours from Cape Town. Stroll along the long white beaches and have lunch at one of the charming fish- or gourmet restaurants. Visit galleries and buy your crayfish directly from the local fishermen in the village. Possibly a trip to the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve.

Day 3. Franschhoek.
After breakfast, drive to the nice pre-chosen, centally located Guesthouse in the gastronomic town of Franschhoek. Upplev Sydafrika have a lot of recommendations regarding excursions and nice restaurants in Franschhoek and the neighbouring area.

Day 4. Franschhoek/Stellenbosch/Paarl.
A whole day to explore the wine district around Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl. Including an half day exclusive private wine tour that run either from 09:00 to 12:30 or from 13:30 to 17:30. The tours are tailored to your needs, let us know what wines you usually enjoy, regions you would like to visit and any other preferences you may have. Spend the evening in Franschhoek or in Stellenbosch.

Day 5. Franschhoek/Hermanus.
After breakfast, drive to the scenic costal town Hermanus and check-in at a nice pre-chosen Guesthouse. In the afternoon, explore the beautiful town of Hermanus.

Day 6-7. Hermanus.
Two days in and around Hermanus and choose between different activities: horesback riding among wild horses, whalewatching (June-beginning of December), Great White Shark diving, golf at Hermanus Golf Club or Arabella Golf Estate, kayaking, do some shopping at galleris and Hermanus market. Experience the magnific 21 km Grotto Beach etc.

Day 8. Hermanus/Cape Town.
After breakfast, drive to one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town. Check-in at pre-chosen Boutique Hotel or Guesthouse. Afternoon – we recommend the hop-on, hop-off bus citytour around Cape Town. Upplev Sydafrika have a lot of recommendations regarding nice restaurants in Cape Town.

Day 9-10. Cape Town.
Two whole days – get to know Cape Town – for different activities: Table Mountain, Robben Island, V&A Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, Waterkant, Signal Hill etc.

Day 11. Cape Peninsula/Cape of Good Hope.
Take a whole day excursion to Cape Point nature reserve and Cape of Good Hope and stop i Simonstown, Boulders Beach with penguins. Follow the costal drive via Hout Bay, Chapmans’s Peak Drive. Lunch is prebooked at a nice restaurant along the way. Include a visit to the green and lush Constantia Winelands. An area with some of the oldest and magnificent wineries in the country.

Day 12. Cape Town/Airport.
Visit V&A Waterfront with exciting streetlife, shopping, restaurants or relax by the pool. Drive to Airport and night flight to Europe.

2 NIGHTS / 3 DAYS ADD ON SAFARI IN GREATER KRUGER

Dag 12-14. Safari.
Try to imagine the most exciting safari experience in the world’s oldest and largest game reserve, Kruger National Park in northeastern South Africa. If you are lucky, you will spot the Big 5; rhino, leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo and a host of other animals that roam freely between the Kruger Park and the private reserves of the Greater Kruger. Stay at a luxury lodge in the bush and experience the animals up close off road, where only the skilled guides and trackers are allowed to drive with land rovers.
