Experience fantastic Cape Town from above. Enjoy a spectacular helicopter tour over Table Mountain

Cape Town is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world with its magnificent nature, beautiful coastline, white beaches and cloud-covered mountains. Cape Town is the mecca of attractions that offers a great variety of fantastic experiences – something that suits everyone! The city is beautifully situated at the foot of Table Mountain, its most famous landmark. There are plenty of nice restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shopping etc. and great accommodation in different price ranges. Close to Cape Town, you will find the green and lush Constantia Winelands. An area with some of the oldest and most magnificent vineyards in the country.

Participate in a guided private city tour around Cape Town, where many interesting sights are combined such as: Table Mountain, Green Point, Waterkant, V&A Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Robben Island are some of the great attractions the city offers.

Ride the cableway to the top of the magnificent 1085 meters high Table Mountain. The tour takes about 5 minutes and offers a 360 degrees spectacular views over the beautiful Cape Town. Once at the top there is a cafe, souvenir shop and access to guided tours and some easy trails. It is also possible to hike/climb the mountain by foot.

Visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 19 of his 27 years as a prisoner. One of Cape Town’s most popular attraction, which takes about 1 hour by boat from the Waterfront. The tour includes a guided tour through the prison, Mandela’s cell and a 45-minute bus tour around the island. Most guides are former prisoners. The total tour takes 3, 5 hours (including the ferry trip).

Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden is one of the most picturesque gardens in the world. The garden is beautifully situated in the eastern part of Table Mountain and accommodates more than 7,000 of the 22,000 native plant species in South Africa. Garden landscape includes 36 acres and the best period to visit Kirstenbosch is between mid-August to mid-October, when the fynbos are at its best and the maximum number of plants are in flower.

Destinations to visit in and around Cape Town

Cape Peninsula

Hout Bay is located about 20 minutes drive from Cape Town, sheltered and surrounded by mountains, close to the many destinations that are worth visiting. Experience the 10 km long Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the most spectacular coastal roads in the world, located between Hout Bay and Noordhoek.

Join a trip to the southernmost part of the Cape Peninsula, Cape of Good Hope, with its magnificent scenery. In the National Park you have a chance to spot Bontebok, Eland and Ostrich. Experience the dramatic Cape Point where the Portuguese navigator Bartholomew Diaz was the first european to round 1488. Take the opportunity to stop in Simon’s Town and Boulders Beach with a large penguin colony. The trip takes a full day.

Include an excursion to beautiful, lush Constantia Winelands with the oldest and most magnificent wineries in the country. The fertile slopes and the mild Mediterranean climate create perfect conditions for growing quality wine. For beach lovers, stop in beautiful Llandudno on Sandy Bay Beaches as well as in Camps Bay, which is considered to have the most popular beach in the area and is 10 minutes by car from Cape Town. Experience the sunset from one of the trendy restaurants and bars at the popular Victoria Road in Camps Bay.

Number one on our South African trip was the Cape of Good Hope guided tour with the incredible knowledgeable guide Garth. He had so much knowledge and taught us a lot about South African history in general …

You can travel to South Africa all year round, but we recommend going September to May

Healthcare is good in South Africa. Even so we suggest obtaining a sound travel insurance before departure

As a EU and UK citizen, you will receive a 90-day tourist visa upon arrival in South Africa

To ponder before travelling:

The so-called “peak season” in December / January is very popular indeed and requires booking of accommodation, safaris, activities and restaurants well in advance.
